What Fire Engineering Services needed
Growth in Fire Engineering Services business prompted the need to mature their processes around QA logging from their internally developed spreadsheet based system.
Fire Engineering Services wanted a system that they could put into the hands of the installers on site in a more practical way, that would be more user friendly for people on site.
Fire Engineering Services also wanted the ability to compile reports in a more automated way.
The Fire QA (Clarinspect) approach
Fire Engineering Services (FES) were aware of the Clarinspect system and had seen them at a FireNZ conference. Their internal system was meeting their requirements but as their business continued to grow they needed to make sure their QA logging system was the most efficient.
FES had numerous conversations with Clarinspect and as the Clarinspect system developed further, FES could see the benefits and signed up to work through the trial process.
Following the usual Clarinspect trial process, FES started with the PF Install product. This was then tailored to meet FES requirements. The Clarinspect system is flexible allowing clients to order questions as per their preference, whether they are to be mandatory / non-mandatory questions - ensuring the field staff are collecting the necessary data, setting up the lists with their preferences for products etc. Clarinspect enabled FES to use their preferred report templates for the individual install records.
The ‘Big Picture’ was also a draw card for FES. This enables the ability to see all ‘Penetrations’ as they are worked on as it compiles them onto the shared floor plan which can be provided to clients and councils. FES have also been a great client for Clarinspect to bounce ideas off to make sure Clarinspect continues to meet the industry needs.
