Clarinspect was delighted to be approached by Cake Group when they were looking for a QA system for the Passive Fire side of their business which they were entering into.
What Cake needed
Evan Calitz, Project Manager at Cake Group, was looking for a QA system that would meet their needs and requirements to record and capture information on site. A priority was to provide clients a schedule which would accompany their PS3.
They were after a quality data collection and reporting system. The system needed to be user friendly for the crew in the field and provide useful reporting information for their clients.
They needed efficient recording of their documentation, capture snapshots of the build along with products used and quality data. Once the information had been captured through the app, they wanted a PDF report and also an automatic collation of all data into an excel spreadsheet. All of which Clarinspect could provide using their own designed templates.
The Fire QA (Clarinspect) approach
Evan formulated what Cake's requirements were needed for the app, to do / questions to be asked and this was passed onto Clarinspect. Clarinspect used this information along with the Clarinspect PF Install product as a base to build the initial inspection system.
This was turned around in 3 days for review. This is the standard Clarinspect approach: prototype and then demonstrate the inspection as it would be used on the device.
Cake Group were able to ask questions and comment on changes during the review to make sure they had the most efficient online inspection that would work for them and their installers.
The flexibility of the Clarinspect PF Install product allows it to be adapted to fit the specifics required by each client. This included the addition of dropdown product lists supplied by their different suppliers.
Having product lists available decreased the time to complete an inspection in the field and also enabled Cake Group to pull through to Excel the products used with the product codes. The flexibility of the excel report allows Evan and Pasan Perera, Quantity Surveyor at Cake, to make any necessary changes before sending reports to their clients.
The standard Clarinspect Linked Excel Spreadsheet also comes with a client export feature so you can extract specific rows and columns into a custom formatted workbook for your end customers, with reports attached.
