1. TERM
FireQA is Australia and New Zealand's leading passive fire inspection, installation, and compliance reporting application, developed and maintained by Clarinspect.
2. PURPOSE
FireQA exists to replace paper-based checklists, disconnected spreadsheets, and unstructured photo libraries with a single, field-first digital system for passive fire compliance teams.
The application enables passive fire installers, auditors, certifiers, and coatings applicators to capture installation and inspection data on site, generate audit-ready registers automatically, and produce the certification documentation required for project handover and ongoing maintenance compliance.
3. SCOPE
FireQA operates across the full passive fire compliance lifecycle: from initial job scoping and installation through to firestopping audits, passive fire certification, and annual AS 1851 maintenance inspections.
The application is designed for use in Australia and New Zealand. It is applicable in commercial, residential, and industrial construction where passive fire protection systems are required under the National Construction Code (NCC) or equivalent.
4. PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE
FireQA operates across two connected platforms. The FireQA App (iOS and Android) is the field-facing tool used by installers, inspectors, and applicators to capture data, drop floor plan pins, take photographs, and complete forms on site. The Clarinspect Hub is the cloud web portal used for job oversight, report generation, user management, drawing version control, data export, and client access. All data captured in the App syncs to the Hub in real time.
Third-party contractors and client monitors can be invited into specific Work Packages with role-appropriate access — allowing clients, engineers, or other trades to view progress without accessing the full system.
5. COMPONENTS
Firestopping Installs (PF Install) — on-site installation logging with job scoping, photo capture, floor plan pin-drop, tested system references, and register generation. Supports Install, Inspect, and Install-after-Fail workflows.
Firestopping Audits — third-party audit workflow with pass/fail/TBC recording, defect classification, and remediation reporting
Certification — inspection and documentation module for passive fire certifiers and fire engineers
AS 1851 Inspections — annual maintenance inspection workflow with year-on-year data carry-over, failed item conversion to install records, and AS 1851-compliant register output
Job Scoping — pre-installation scoping tool that converts scoped items to draft install records and supports quoting
Construction Monitoring — ongoing monitoring of building items requiring inspection, with reinspection support and open/closed status tracking
Defect Tracker — defect identification, assignment, and resolution tracking with internal and client-facing reporting
Coatings QA (Intumescent) — intumescent paint QA with direct integration from DeFelsko and Elcometer thickness gauges
Cementitious Spray QA — QA and thickness monitoring for cementitious fire protection, with individual workpiece quality records and annotated floor plan output
Smart Pin Technology — proprietary QR-code labelling system (Zebra ZQ520 printer) for physical-to-digital penetration records
SmartFills — auto-population feature that reads work package and prior record context to pre-fill installation and inspection form fields
BIM Schedule Import — bulk import of penetration records from BIM-derived Excel schedules into Work Packages as draft install records
Version-Controlled Drawings — floor plans loaded as controlled drawings with automatic version propagation; all pins and annotations transfer to new drawing versions
6. OUTPUTS
Passive Fire Register — as-built register per building or work package, exportable to Excel and PDF
Firestopping Register — product-level installation record with tested system references
AS 1851 inspection register — with year-on-year comparison and defect reports
Individual As-Built PDFs — one per penetration or installation, containing all photos and data
Marked-up floor plans — annotated site plans showing all pins, filterable by status
Certification documents for project handover
Cementitious QA reports — individual workpiece quality records with wet film / dry film test data
Construction Monitoring registers — open/closed item status reports with reinspection history
Scoping reports — itemised scope registers for quoting purposes
Linked Excel Spreadsheet (Final Register) — full asset database with linked individual reports in a single zip file, for delivery to building owner or principal contractor
Solutions and Products Used report — breakdown of all unique products used on a project
Technical Support Breakdown — summary of all tested systems with data sheet images
